SECTION THOUGH THE AXIS.

Roof trusses supported on the trilithons were  linked together to form an oval dome over the hall. Lower roof slopes were then added. The Bluestone of the  circle were part of an outer, enclosing wall,

If trusses are set to create an evenly slopping roof, with heights dictated by the width of span, the four large central trusses form two pairs. They also form a semi-circle from edge to edge, above the sarsen circle.

Such perfect co-incidences don’t happen by chance.
